This course is for Massage Therapists, Physical Therapists, Rolfers and other health professionals who wish to enhance and complement their knowledge in the area of movement and myofascial therapy.

  • Discover different possibilities for tuning into your body and thereby maintaining positive changes;
  • Learn about tools for educating and designing concrete exercises for your patients for post treatment self-help and improvement in addition to positively affecting their general well being;
  • Acquire dexterity in different manipulations and ways of touch according to which mechanoreceptors you want to stimulate;
  • Recognize that we are movement and that it is through one’s own perception of movement, which we will be able to better detect which situations create tension and find the spots where limitations exist.
  • Acquire body intelligence that allows us to detect postural and gesture patterns which cause tension and/or pain.
  • Realize that by becoming aware of our way of moving, we can do static and dynamic body readings of our patients in a more precise manner.

Based on Rolfing and Rolfing movement and structural integration, experiential anatomy and the latest research on fascia. Bibiana Badenes brings over 25 years of experience as a physical therapist in both clinical and educational settings.

Manual therapy and osteopathy use specific techniques to manipulate and restore the body’s tissue so that it can perform its physiological function and participate optimally in homeostasis. Along with structural change, a process is begun in which new movement possibilities appear.

Clients often don’t pay attention to this moment and go home without having become aware of the change. Subsequently, our clients go back to daily life activities or sports in the same old way and then either get injured again or develop new injuries out of adaptation. It is here where we can influence permanent change and alter old patterns and habits.

We often focus on the manipulation and the techniques  but we forget that working in any area affects the whole body. “Hands on the body are hands on the nervous system”. Through Mindful Movements students will be guided to embody the experience of the exercises so they can teach and guide their own clients and patients toward better health.  Embodiment is about reclaiming our natural connection with our bodies.

In this course, students will be able to combine manual therapy and movement techniques to better address their clients needs.
